Disconnected? Exploring How Diet Might Affect Dissociation

dissociation and food.jpg

Have you ever felt like the world around you isn’t real? Or like you were watching yourself from outside your body? These are called dissociative experiences, and while they sound unusual, they’re more common than you might think.

We’re inviting adults of all dietary backgrounds to take part in a short, anonymous study exploring whether the ketogenic diet—a low-carb, high-fat eating plan—might influence these experiences.

✅ You can take part if:

  • You are 18 years or older

  • You are currently following any type of diet

  • You do not have a diagnosed dissociative or psychotic disorder

  • You are not currently under the influence of drugs or alcohol

The study involves a 15-minute online questionnaire about your diet, wellbeing, and dissociative experiences. Your responses are completely anonymous and securely stored.

This research could help us better understand how nutrition may influence mental states like disconnection, detachment, or fogginess.

Interested? Help us uncover whether food affects how grounded we feel in reality.
